The first time I joined Link Parties I only joined few blog hosts. The reason is it was too time consuming. And when you joined tons of blog parties your post will end up very long because the buttons are not uniform in sizes. I decided to think of something that will help me joined a lot of blog parties and make my posting short because of the uniform hosts' buttons.
Here's what I came up with.
First, I saved all the html codes of all the parties I've joined coming from my "Parties" page
Here's what I came up with.
First, I saved all the html codes of all the parties I've joined coming from my "Parties" page
to a word document.
To make all the buttons like this:
I edit all the HTML codes in my Word document to this format and save it. (You need to do this format for each button.)
(All the Blue are standard; the Red is the website url; the Purple is the link for the button)
(You can change the size of width and height depending on what size you want.)
(You can change the size of width and height depending on what size you want.)
When it's time to join the party:
1. I go to my Word document and copy the url or webpage of the host. (http://www.scrapidoodlelicious.blogspot.com/)
2. Open a browser and paste the url. (http://www.scrapidoodlelicious.blogspot.com/)
3. Find the Party post and link your project.
4. Once it's link, I copy the html code button from my Word document to my post. (This part below:)
<a border="0"
href="http://www.scrapidoodlelicious.blogspot.com/" target="blank"><img src="http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z475/guinever1126/GrabButtonFinal1.jpg"
width="125" height = "125" /></a>
5. Then, paste to your post.
6. Just repeat steps 1-5 for the rest of the great parties you are joining in.
Hope this help! If you have easier idea, please share the link of your post in the comment so we can help other bloggers to save time in joining the parties. Thanks!
But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and
they shall walk, and not faint.

How cool. I do the very same thing! In addition, I have a word doc for each day of the week's parties (I.e. Monday linkys, etc). Each has all the button codes I need per day. And Then I have bookmark folders of the websites that I link to- each bookmark folder is titled by the day of the week. Say when it's Monday I just open all the Monday bookmarks/websites at once in that bookmark folder. I thought I would share this with you since you have done so much to get organized and share with all of us!
ReplyDeleteYou're my newest hero! I don't link up to many parties because it is so time consuming. This is a great tip.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Traci

ReplyDeleteHi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
ReplyDeleteThe text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I figured I'd
post to let you know. The layout look great though! Hope you get the issue solved soon.
